Whee! I have plans with my new friend, Z! We're gonna meet for coffee on Thursday. (:Also, temping at a major TV network has (kind of) paid off (maybe)! Apparently, there was a young lady who used to temp here in this office a while back, and she's now a Senior Producer in the network's news division. Neato. So one of the ladies here called her and mentioned that I am seeking some sort of production work... She replied back very helpfully with some suggestions, and this morning I asked her if I could stop by her desk at some point to discuss TV work with her, and maybe see if she can put me in touch with someone in postproduction (which has been a casual interest since my mad editing skills were complimented by a college professor long long ago). The job hierarchy seems to be a little different, and I'd like to get a better idea of what it's like.
Oh, and Salty sent me a link to a really cool personality test. You should go do it!
My strongest score was in category 6, the skeptic/questioner, closely followed by category 4, the artist/romantic. Check out my profile; it's pretty damn close, if not dead on!
How to get along with me:
-Be direct and clear.
-Listen to me carefully.
-Don't judge me for my anxiety.
-Work things through with me.
-Reassure me that everything is OK between us.
-Laugh and make jokes with me.
-Gently push me toward new experiences.
-Try not to overreact to my overreacting.
-Give me plenty of compliments. They mean a lot to me.
-Be a supportive friend or partner. Help me to learn to love and value myself.
-Respect me for my special gifts of intuition and vision.
-Though I don't always want to be cheered up when I'm feeling melancholy, I sometimes like to have someone lighten me up a little.
-Don't tell me I'm too sensitive or that I'm overreacting!
What I like about being a six/four:
-being committed and faithful to family and friends
-being responsible and hardworking
-being compassionate toward others
-having intellect and wit
-being a nonconformist
-confronting danger bravely
-being direct and assertive
-my ability to find meaning in life and to experience feeling at a deep level
-my ability to establish warm connections with people
-admiring what is noble, truthful, and beautiful in life
-my creativity, intuition, and sense of humor
-being unique and being seen as unique by others
-having aesthetic sensibilities
-being able to easily pick up the feelings of people around me
Why it's hard being a six/four:
-the constant push and pull involved in trying to make up my mind
-procrastinating because of fear of failure; having little confidence in myself
-fearing being abandoned or taken advantage of
-exhausting myself by worrying and scanning for danger
-wishing I had a rule book at work so I could do everything right
-being too critical of myself when I haven't lived up to my expectations
-experiencing dark moods of emptiness and despair
-feelings of self-hatred and shame; believing I don't deserve to be loved
-feeling guilty when I disappoint people
-feeling hurt or attacked when someone misundertands me
-expecting too much from myself and life
-fearing being abandoned
-obsessing over resentments
-longing for what I don't have
Weird, huh? Go do one for yourself!

I think you're more of a 6 than a 4 now that I read about 6's.
