I think I'm moving my money.
I'm fed up with big banks treating me like crap. When I was a student at Wright State I never had problems like this with my credit union! So I'm in the market for a credit union, or maybe even just a local bank. The ATM fees well really only cause me to have to be better prepared with cash, which isn't such a bad thing.
Chase can suck it. I no longer want to be one of the reasons the big banks are 'too big to fail.' I'm voting with my dollars. And I'm voting for George, not for Mr. Potter.

Arlen and Sandy
Cool, right? Suddenly the Dems are filibuster-proof. Advance-a Obama Agenda.
This dude from one of the other companies that rents office space on our floor looks over at me and goes "It sure makes you wonder what they offered him, huh." All I could think was, Dude! Don't look a gift horse in the mouth!! I mean, it's good to question and everything, but to be that cynical right off the bat?
Upon further research, it so far appears that Specter is making the move out of a genuine shift in politics (from the article I linked above, it seems the politics shifted more than he did, which was the issue he had). I mean, it is kind of odd that the guy who invented the Magic Bullet Theory (not the blender, the Kennedy thing) would be the guy who gave the Democratic senators phenomenal cosmic power. But dude. Seriously, just go with it.
I finished my popsicle, thoughtfully watching reporters circling around Specter as he walked through some hallway somewhere in D.C. It was cherry flavored. I looked down at the stick when I was done, and the joke on it was this:
"What did the beachcomber name his daughter?"
The answer, of course, was "Sandy."

I told you I'd be back...now go read the Stimulus Bill.
So anyway, go here and look at this. It's an NPR spot I heard on the Brian Lerher Show this morning about this guy, Steve Coll, who is reading the entire Stimulous Bill and blogging his thoughts about it. I haven't had a chance to look at it more than briefly yet, but I plan to check it out in further detail during some downtime that I hope will happen this evening.
At least that's how I plan to distract myself from all the stupid worries about girly crap that are running through my head lately!

Dancing with the Stars of Washington: Great Moments in Inaugural History
Suddenly everyone noticed that Jill Biden is kind of hot.
George H.W. Bush dons a big fuzzy trapper hat. Rumors begin that his hat and Aretha Franklin's hat are going to spar after the ceremony. See action-packed video of hats here.

Michele Obama shows up in an ugly gold muumuu...and nearly everyone seems to approve.
Aretha Franklin mutters at some asshole to shut up.
Little Obamas do not fidget or misbehave during retardedly long ceremony, thus proving they are actually animatronic "Crewcuts by J. Crew" mannequins.
Barack gives a shout out to atheists!
Dr. Joseph E. Lowry brings back catchy anti-racist slogans! "....Help us work for that day when black will not be asked to give back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right."
Obama causes a security ruckus by totally failing to stay in the car. Hundreds of secret service agents simultaneously develop a nervous tick. Check out the picture...Obamas are happy. Other guys? Not happy.
The "Neighborhood Ball" brings inaugural balls into the homes of people all over America and beyond. Sure, it might cheapen the whole experience of actually GOING to the ball a little, but at least this way sedentary and apathetic Americans everywhere can feel included.
Joe and Jill Biden show up in a tux and a gorgeous red gown on a stage that vaguely resembles American Idol. Joe takes his wife's hand...and then totally fails to deliver on the dance floor. At least he warned us first.
Stevie Wonder is led off stage by his "seeing-eye Sting" after a jaunty yet still touching duet. Thanks to the Heartwarmer for making me laugh so hard my belly hurt when she coined the phrase, "seeing-eye Sting."
