Giggly Bubbly Delishos

Rules are made to be broken, I guess. I am breaking my policy of not writing about my dates to discuss a date I had tonight.

He took me to the BEST little cozy wine bar. He was kind and funny and sweet. He was smart and fun to talk to. He refused to let me chip in for the tab. He practically begged to move from the table to a comfy looking couch--I declined because I was feeling rather regal in my antique throne-like chair, but also because I didn't want to get too cozy and scare off the bartender. That sounds weird, right?

The bartender and I hit it off from the start. He was thrilled when I asked intelligent questions about rose and made cute little jokes about stealing me away. I love talking to wait staff as a general rule, but this guy was a little different. When my date ran off to the restroom he chatted me up, complimenting my dress and casually referring to Date as my boyfriend, leaving me wide open to correct him. He said he'd quit a corporate job to run the bar because he loved it (aww!). Later, Date and I were debating the merits of David Lynch when he stopped by to pick up my empty glass. When I asked him to comment on Lynch he said, "Weirdness for weirdness' sake is not art." Holy god. I want to put that on a fucking t-shirt and loiter around Tisch in it. Bartender was cute too--no, gorgeous is the word. If he'd asked me to ditch Date and go home with him I might have done it. I tried my best to be a good girl and pay attention to Date, but I found myself glancing up every so often to see Bartender glancing back at me. As I drank more wine I felt myself making flirty bedroom eyes at him. He brought us free champagne...and winked at me as my date toasted me.

I love being the center of attention! I also love champagne. I felt a little bad for Date, who teased me about being chatty with the service but was in effect none the wiser. I wasn't so rude as to leave a card on the table or anything, but I did think about it.

At any rate, I'm definitely going back!

Lynch is definitely weird BUT I L O V E D his Twin Peaks series. Sometimes I annoy my friends by using variations of "Damn good coffee!"
